TEXPROCIL Registration

Take your cotton textile exports global, backed by an RCMC.

TEXPROCIL — The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council — is the Government of India's apex export promotion body for the cotton textile industry, established in 1954 under the Ministry of Textiles. If your business manufactures or exports raw cotton, cotton yarn, woven or knitted fabrics, made-ups, home textiles, or cotton-blended products, registering with TEXPROCIL and obtaining your Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) is the gateway to India's Foreign Trade Policy benefits.

Without a valid RCMC, exporters cannot claim incentives such as RoDTEP or duty drawback, participate in council-led trade fairs and buyer-seller meets, or access TEXPROCIL's market intelligence and export documentation support. Our specialists file your e-RCMC application on the DGFT portal end-to-end, so your export business stays compliant, credible, and competitive in the global cotton textile market.

FAQ

Common questions about TEXPROCIL registration

Can't find your question here? Use the form alongside this page and we'll answer it directly.

TEXPROCIL, or The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, is a government-sponsored body under the Ministry of Textiles set up in 1954 to promote the export of Indian cotton textiles.

An RCMC, or Registration-Cum-Membership Certificate, is the credential that lets exporters claim benefits under India's Foreign Trade Policy and is issued through the relevant Export Promotion Council.

Registration itself isn't compulsory to export, but the RCMC is required to claim government export incentives, so most serious cotton textile exporters register.

Manufacturer exporters and merchant exporters dealing in raw cotton, yarn, fabric, made-ups, or cotton-blended textile products with a valid IEC can apply.

Typically around 7 to 10 working days once all documents and fees are submitted correctly on the DGFT e-RCMC portal.

IEC certificate, PAN, GST registration, incorporation or partnership proof, and a CA-certified export performance statement form the core set — see the Documents section above.

The e-RCMC application is filed entirely online through the DGFT's common digital platform, with TEXPROCIL selected as the registering authority.

The certificate is valid for a fixed period and must be renewed before expiry to continue availing council benefits and export incentives.

Access to export incentive schemes, trade fair participation, market intelligence, legal and technical advisory, and networking with global buyers — see the Benefits section above.

Because we handle RCMC filings across the cotton textile value chain daily, keep you informed at every stage, and stay on for renewal and compliance long after your certificate is issued.
