APEDA Registration

Take your agri-export business global, with APEDA on your side.

APEDA registration is the mandatory Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) issued by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, under India's Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Any exporter dealing in scheduled agricultural or processed food products — fruits and vegetables, dairy, meat, cereals, confectionery, beverages, floriculture, and more — must hold this certificate before goods can legally leave Indian shores.

Beyond the legal formality, an active RCMC unlocks APEDA's financial assistance schemes, subsidised participation in global trade fairs, packaging and quality development support, and direct access to buyer databases — advantages that put registered exporters well ahead of unregistered competitors. Our team handles the entire filing, from IEC verification to certificate issuance, so you can focus on sourcing and shipping.

Schedule of Products

Which product group needs APEDA registration?

APEDA's Act lists 14 scheduled groups of agricultural and processed food products. Exporting any one of them without a valid RCMC is not permitted. Here's the coverage we register exporters under, at a glance.

Fruits, Vegetables & Their Products

Fresh produce, pulps, purees, juices, and dehydrated vegetables — the largest and most frequently registered category.

Most Registered

Meat & Meat Products

Fresh, chilled, and processed meat exports, subject to APEDA's meat-specific traceability and hygiene standards.

Poultry & Poultry Products

Eggs, egg powder, and processed poultry items intended for shipment to international buyers.

Dairy Products

Milk powder, ghee, cheese, and other dairy derivatives cleared for export under APEDA's quality framework.

Floriculture & Floriculture Products

Cut flowers, dried florals, and ornamental plants shipped through APEDA-registered handling infrastructure.

Cereals & Cereal Products

Basmati and non-basmati rice, wheat, and processed cereal-based goods, one of India's highest-volume agri-export lines.

Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic Beverages

Packaged beverages and select alcoholic products falling within APEDA's scheduled list for export clearance.

Confectionery, Biscuits & Bakery Products

Processed and packaged bakery goods, confectionery, and snack items bound for overseas retail and wholesale buyers.

The Process

From IEC to RCMC, in eight steps

Here's exactly what happens between deciding to export a scheduled product and holding your APEDA Registration-cum-Membership Certificate in hand.

1

Verify IEC & Product Eligibility

We confirm your Import Export Code is active and check that your product falls under one of APEDA's 14 scheduled categories.

2

Document Compilation

PAN, bank certificate, GST registration, incorporation proof, and address proof are gathered and formatted to APEDA's filing standards.

3

Online Application on APEDA Portal

Your RCMC application is filed electronically on APEDA's official registration portal, with product categories correctly declared.

4

Registration Fee Payment

The prescribed APEDA registration fee is remitted online, and the payment acknowledgement is linked to your application.

5

Document Verification

APEDA's regional office reviews the application and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.

6

Query Resolution

If clarifications are raised, we respond on your behalf promptly to keep the application moving without delay.

7

RCMC Issuance

Once approved, APEDA issues your Registration-cum-Membership Certificate, valid for five years from the date of issue.

8

Export-Readiness Briefing

We walk you through applicable APEDA schemes, product-specific compliance, and renewal timelines so you're set to start shipping.

Eligibility

Who needs to register with APEDA?

Eligibility is defined by what you export, not your company size — here's the baseline criteria every applicant must meet.

Valid Import Export Code (IEC)

An active IEC issued by DGFT is mandatory before an RCMC application can be filed with APEDA.

Deals in a Scheduled Product

Your business must manufacture, process, or trade in at least one of the 14 product groups listed under the APEDA Act.

Any Business Structure Eligible

Proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs, and private or public companies can all apply — there's no entity-type restriction.

Manufacturer or Merchant Exporter

Both manufacturer-exporters and merchant-exporters qualify, whether you produce goods yourself or source them for export.

Registration Within One Month

Applicants are expected to apply within one month of the IEC being issued, or of commencing export of a scheduled product.

Active Bank Account

A current business bank account with a bank certificate is required to complete the application and receive scheme benefits.

Paperwork

Documents you'll need to keep handy

Gathering these upfront is the single biggest thing you can do to speed up your RCMC approval.

The certificate must be renewed before expiry to keep your export authorisation valid.

Periodic reporting of export performance as required under your product category's scheme rules.
